Finding it hard to see the light

For the past week, I have been approached by members of the church 3 times about christianity. Every time I talke to them. Maybe I have some sort of aura, or something written on my forehead suggesting them that I want to convert. haha. I don't have any problem with people coming to me about their religion, it is their right. And they respect me if I don't want to hear it. The problem is nobody from my religion approached me to preach about my religion. I guess they think I don't have a problem. That is what irritating me. Other religion will come to you offering you many benefits (yes they will) but my own religion doesn't care about me.
Most of the people I talked to came from Yes** yout* g**op. Talking with an accent with fair skin blond hair I suspect they came from australia(a chance t o practice my english). most probably the fundinng for them to stay here comes from australia tooo. who knows. A question comes into my mind, where are the Islam preacher? stalking churches to catch people converting? lurking in budget motels finding couple having sex? All I know they are just not here. Now is the time where there are many disbeliever and all theey do is sit in their offices. They tackle the problem not at the roots but at the ends. I guess that is a government motto. Wait until they have done something and catch them but not preventing them. In my opinion it is better to tackle the problem at the very bases. Approach us, preach us. Stop spending time finding sinners and start investing time shaping a good ummah.

How easy it is to hack a wifi - WEP vulnerability

So what do you do when you are bored? Me, I'll start fixing stuff. The problem in my house is that the internet is tpp darn slow. While searching the net I accidentally(wink2) found a way to hack other people's wifi. I did this to experience
1. Is all internet in Malaysia that slow?
No, basicly only private internet line are slow, commercial ones are fast.
2. Is it hard?
No, a programme actually simplify it.

Now, this post is not intended to suggest to you to do something illegal. Knowledge is power, knowing how to crack a safe does not mean that you have to crack one. This post is to suggest that if your internet is too slow. maybe there is someone piggybacking on your wifi modem. Usually a very unstable wifi (easily disconnected) suggest someone is acessing your wifi.

What you will need:
• USB WiFi Adapter
• USB cable
• High Gain antenna
• A backtrack like software in a CD

Insert CD to you CD Rom, restart your computer and boot the CD Rom (just like when you format computer to install windows, boot the CD). After boot the CD, you will be in below screen, please follow below screenshoot.

STEP1

STEP2

STEP3

STEP4

STEP5

STEP6
- Choose the attacks parameters, by default is ARP REPLY ATTACK.

- Click the DEAUTH to attack client can speed up the crack process.

STEP7

STEP8

After all that hard worl you get the password, unfortunately all my effort was worthless because my neighbour uses 0123456789 as his password. I did thoudh crack a mamak restaurant wifi 2.6km away(one of perks of having a wifi booster), a school wifi 1.9km away.

4th year medical books

So, I did a mistake. I was asked to recommend books for 4th year but instead I wrote about 3rd year books. My bad. So, 4th year is when you start your cycles (or posting). Mainly we used lecture materials but these are some of the books that I liked.

1. Obstetric
I mainly read a photostate copy of a translated ukrainian book. It fits the russian curriculum but most of the treatment are bizarre (acc to western standards).
Also, Obstetric by dutta is also helpful. However, my experience is, no matter how much book you read, it wont be enough for the teachers. I don't know where you can find the pdf version of the books.

Supplementary books :
Obstetric and gynaecology at a glance
A very good book. Equipped with many pictures. Plus you can use it during Gynae cycle on 5th year
http://www.4shared.com/document/bsApcIdG/OBSTETRICS_AND_GYNECOLOGY_AT_A.htm

акушерство айламазян
If you have the time, you can start preparing for the state exam. This book is very good unfortunately, I just can't find the time to read it.
http://www.booksmed.com/akuwerstvo/27-akusherstvo-uchebnik-dlya-medicinskix-vuzov.html

2. Neurology
I actually love neurology but I was not inspired. Main source of information are lectures. So try asking the seniors for their notes. Some lectures are very interesting (if given by the right person) , some are just lullaby. Books that I read and personally recommend is Neurology and neurosurgery ilustrated (by the title you can guess why I loved this book - the word ilustrated), unfortunately I don't have the link for you to skim through the book.

Supplementarry books :
Mayo clinic, essential neurology
http://www.4shared.com/document/XXB7j8qb/Mayo_Clinic_Essential_Neurolog.htm

3. Ear, nose and throat
Lecture materials are important, notes from seniors and for textbook.
ENT by dhingra is mostly used. Buy it from your frien in India, it is cheaper.
http://www.4shared.com/document/zR6pTEtK/Diseases_of_Ear_Nose_and_Throa.htm

4. Opthalmology
Lecture materials are important. If I am not mistaken, the library have some books but I think it is better use for revision. For textbook find Opthalmology by khurana. Quite easy to understand. Plus with each purchase you are give a small pocketbook.
http://www.4shared.com/document/LfEF7z-C/Khurana_ophthal.htm

supplementary books :
Color atlas of opthalmology
http://www.4shared.com/document/Ngrp-MRU/Color_Atlas_Of_Ophthalmology.htm

5. Pediatrics
Lecture materials are useful I guess. I usually read russian textbook as the exam will be a state exam (meaning in russian)
For pediatrics :
http://www.booksmed.com/pediatriya/34-pediatriya-uchebnik-dlya-medicinskix-vuzov.html
For infectious diseases of children :
http://www.booksmed.com/infekcionnye-bolezni/45-infekcionnye-bolezni-u-detej-timchenko.html

supplementary book :
Pediatric protocols in malaysia

6. Dermatology
Notes are from lectures but I suggest you learn dermatology by looking at pictures.
Fitzpatrick colour atlas and synopsis of dermatology
http://www.4shared.com/document/S5KBhk-D/Fitzpatricks_Color_Atlas_and_S.htm

7. Internal medicine
Basicly are the same topic from last year with added criteria for diagnosis and treatment. The lecture note are from Kumar & Clark with some additional notes. Most malaysian student have Harrisonns. These books are good but they lack the treatment part of it. I supplemented the information froom lectures with Merck manual (you can get in in iphone). I suggest you get a physical examination book. I used MacLeods (you can find the link on 3rd year medical book post). Most student studying in Malaysia use Tally's PE.

8. Surgery
Mainly I use lecture notes. Many students have Bailey's.

Supplementary books:
http://www.booksmed.com/hirurgiya/168-xirurgicheskie-bolezni-kuzin-uchebnik.html
A good book, lack pictures thoough.

3nd year medical books - a review

I hated my 3rd year of education. It was hell and I only remembered scraps from what I learned. If I was given the chance, I would not sleep and only study during my 3rd year (don't worry, I laughed at myself too). So this are some of the book that I have managed to read and would recommend.

Pathological anatomy
1. Textbook of pathology by Harsh Mohan
For a textbook written in India, it was really simple to understand with a lot of pictures (something you would rarely see in a russian textbook). I seriouly recomend this book you will use it even after you have passed your pat anat exam.

http://www.filesonic.com/file/1624266184/Textbook%20of%20Pathology-%20Harsh%20Mohan.chm

2. Robins basic pathology
I personally never read this book but most of my friend studying in Malaysia use this book

part 1: http://www.filesonic.com/file/1430515274/Robins%20pathology.part1.rar
part 2:
http://www.filesonic.com/file/1430515194/Robins%20pathology.part2.rar

Pharmacology
Basicly the textbook given by the university is enough but if you have the time I recommend you read these books.

1. Lippincott's Ilustrated review : pharmacology
I like pictures (full stop) This books have lots of them.

http://www.filesonic.com/file/1482739361/Lippincott_s_Illustrated_Reviews__Pharmacology__4th_Edition_.chm

2. Katzung and trevor pharmacology review
What I like about this books that it a Q&A part. A very good book.
http://www.filesonic.com/file/1483147751/Katzung.chm

Internal medicine
Basicly you have to eat, sleep with the book given by the university. Clinical examination is usually taught by the teachers. My experience is that it is not enough, so I recommend you read:

1. Macleod's Clinical Examination: 12th Edition
I first saw this book while doing practical in Malaysia. Most of manipal student's carry this book in the ward. I have skimmed through it and regret that have not known it sooner. Other universities in malaysia uses different book but I guess this is enough.

http://www.filesonic.com/file/1426418924/Macleoid.rar

Surgery
Well, I can't help you here. I actually have no idea what I learned during surgery and basicly caused me to be "complimented" (sigh) during my practical in Malaysia.

Note : I do not host these files and should not be held reliable for any problems. They are intended to be as a sample. If you like it, buy it

My first..... MRCP book

I know it will be along time before I can even think about taking MRCP but I guess it is useful for the final. What I like about the book is its cover (kidding). Well the book explain the problems well, with simple language that even a medical student from Russia can understand. Of course the book does not have enough depth to cover all the main question in MRCP exam but what it has successfully achieved is to show an overview of what to expect and what to do if you a given an MRCP like question. Highly recommended to jumpstart your study for finals/MRCP

look how cute the book is :)

How to download torrent using an ipad 2 - without jailbreak

I am sure there are many ways out there to download torrents ( and I have tried some), but for me though my way is slightly complicated (once you know, it is simple). This way is also great if you live a country like Malaysia, where the so called broadband is as slow as a dial-up. Coming back from Russia (where I can dowload torrent up to 700-900kbps) it is frustating to see downloads in Malaysia (a maximum of 15kbps). I thanked the Malaysia government which campaigned 1 house 1 broadband but allowing a government company to monopolize the market, making it non competitive.

1st step (you can use an ipad/ computer in this part)
You need to sign up with torrific (which is free). Just go to www.torrific.com and sign up. It is important to give an actual email because the will send email notification to this email. Then verify the email and log in. Don't close this tab

2nd step (ipad/computer)
Open a new tab and go to your favourite torrent site. Mine is www.isohunt.com . Find the torrent you want, click on it, where it say "download .torrent" right click (or if you use ipad touch it until a popup comes out) and copy the link.

3rd step (ipad/computer)
Open back the torrific tab, and go to home. Immediately you will see a place to paste your link (look like a search column) and click "get". Then a page appear asking you to "initiate bittorent transmission". Click it, and depend on the size of the file, you have to wait a few minute for the file to be downloaded into the server. When it is finished, it will send a notification to your email. While waiting you can do step 4.

4th step (ipad only)
Download an app called Filer which you get from appstore / installous.

5th step (ipad only)
Once there is an email notification saying your torrent have been downloaded, click it (and if needed log in). It will show the torrent that you have downloaded, pick the one you want and it will open another page. You will see the torrent already downloaded (basicly a file with .wmv,.avi,.mp4), touch it for a while until a popup comes on your ipad and pick copy. Paste on the filer and press enter and it will start downloading

6th step - watch the movie you have downloaded. So, if you have downloaded a file which ipad have not supported, at the upper right corner of the ipad there is a button to transfer your file to another app (how cool is that?), so I use AVplayerHD

So if I download torrent directly, in any other country it will be faster but in malaysia I suggest you use this method.Because malaysia has limit the speed of torrennt, so direct downloading is the choice. I get an average of 110kbps (not as fast as russia but 10x better than using a microtorrent)

That's my way... if you have other method please share

Top 10 ipad 2 apps

I have received my ipad 2 for a couple of month now, and I can say it have replaced my stone age laptop (with few accessories and apps of course). Although many malaysian are still waiting in line to buy an ipad from an apple reseller, I bought mine at ebay. I still can't forget what happened to my friend. He was frustated after so long waiting in line for an ipad, he still failed to get one. So he followed the "wise" advise from a salesperson an bought an ipad online (he also bought a camera connection kit). So after 2 days, he received a parcel. Apparently apple has a send anything avaiilable send first. So all he got was a connection kit. haha. Sorry for the detour. So we will start our countdown.

(I do not hold rights to any of the app I mention below and I am not affiliatd with any of them)

10. Yahoo! messenger
Well, I guess every malaysian have a yahoo account. This app is basicly my lifeline for a social relationship... The best thing about ym that I love is the ability to be invisible to everyone else yet able to stalk other people status.

9. Blogpress
For any blogger out there blogging, without this app, how else can I write all this c***.

8. MobileRSS
I sincerely hate this app. It has made me addicted to read other people's c***. haha. (warning! installing this app may cause laziness, addiction to reading blog, decrease productivity).

7. MyQuran
I am not being pretencious, but how can you be a muslim without a Quran.

6. MyPad
This is another app that has cause me to sit 2-3 hours a day in front of my ipad. With its cool design, smart interface it is a must have for ipad. Stalk, update status with ease,

5. Atomic web
True multiple tab browsing (which apple has promised in iOS5), you may also download through it, save and open it later. (I have forgotten where I hide my safari app after installing this app).

4. Readdledocs
If you are a bookworm or just a medical student like me, how else would you open your downloaded books, powerpoint presentation, word document? why readdle docs of course. It actually opens any format and it even opens picture rich pdf format (for ex: my dermatology atlas which is 300 mb in size)

3. Filer
Download almost anything from the internet (I will show you how to download torrent in your ipad ;P)

2. AVplayerHD
So I admit I am a movie buff. So with this app, you do not need to convert any movie anymore. Just drag and drop any movie through iTunes or through wifi or from an ext hard drive (yes, ipad now can be attached to an external harddrive) or open a movie that you have downloaded through filer. If you like to watch movies, then without this your ipad is a piece of rock.

1. Death rally
Yes, the moment which we have waited for... Death rally. So you can't have an ipad without having a game. Right? This game is a result of fornication between racing game, FPS, and killing people. Basicly you have a car equipped with weapons that you can use to kill people.

So, that's my top 10 ipad apps. what is yours?

case 3 - "I can't smoke anymore!"

So, I was lucky, because I had read this case before and when the specialist asked with a grin I answered. She replied "you can't even answer a simple question but this one you know?"

A 73 year old malay man, admitted with symptoms of an almost constant cough. He also complained of weakness in his right arm arm (actual word was "tangan saya lemah sampai nak merokok pun xboleh" - wth? haha). During examination, there are guttering of metacarpal of both hand. ptosis of right eyelid, Anisocoria(R-3mm L-4mm), pupil react to light.

note: this is not the actual pic, but it showws the condition

Name the condition of the pupil?
What is the diagnosis?

Medical attachment

So last week was my last day at medical department ( well I actually didn't stay too long in there, everyday I would wander around in emergency, obgyn, and surgery). Next week I would start my surgical attachment. Though I am still thinking of going, haha. I learn a lot of stuff, many procedure and what I lacked in knowledge. Many embarassing moments, some exciting, a lot of painful moment and maybe a pinch of joy. According to the "kind" MO that is in that dept, he sees that I have a weakness in short cases and I don't know s*** about abbreviations. Basically my training in russia has not equipped me with the knowledge to describe an abnormality (I know there is an abnormality but I can't seem to know what it represents) or maybe they did teach me but I have a problem to recall it. Hm, I guess it easier to blame on the uni (haha). So, no use of blaming other people without actually doing something about it. So I have compiled some of the short cases I have seen, the steps in the procedures I have learnt. I am not perfect, so if you see any mistakes, or if you want to add something feel free to email ammus89@gmail.com

sigh, I pity the ones who read my blog

case 2 - simple Q

So, this one is a simple one.
Malay man 64 years old, random plasma glucose is 6.1 mmol/l

Is it normal?
what should you do?
what is the criteria for diabetes?

sigh, I pity the ones who read my blog

case 1 - a man with clubbing

So, I'll start sharing interesting cases I encountered in my attachment in medical department. Sorry for no photos but I will try to be as descriptive as possible.

Patient X, malay men 60 years old, admitted with progressive right sided weakness. He was not toxic, no sign of liver failure. He has gross clubbing of the fingers. Patient has a history of smoking.

So I'll ask the same question the specialist asked me.

what do you suspect the patient have? (keep in mind the clubbing)
what are the causes of clubbing?

My experience with queers (lempuan, lelaki lembut etc)

I don't know how to start this post. First of all I want to apologize the 2-3 reader for not updating. Considering that I have not yet advertise my blog, I would say 3 readers (from the visitors count) is a good thing. Maybe if I have more readers I would be more interested to update my blog.

So as the title suggest, this post is about my experience or encounters with lelaki lembut. Each experience has taught me well (gigle). I would remind that I am not gay, or interested in them. I am sorry if this post will affend anyone. If you guys guess that I am a homophobe or hate gays then give yourself 10 points.

My first encounter was when I was wandering around in Melaka. From a far I can see a girl (well at least from a far she/he looks like a girl). she was wearing a tudung(scarf), with shirt and jean if I was not mistaken. About 5-10 meters I looked at her/him. She/he has female secondary sexual characteristic (breast, hips, no facial hair, wearing make up) but when I stare at her/him, I was shocked that her/his face looked like a man, he has wide shoulders. He/she walked pass by me. I was in a state of shock (in my mind, if that was a girl, she would have been a very ugly girl). I stopped to take a look again to confirm my findings (haha). She/he stopped too. Turn his face and smiled (OMG, he was checking me).

Then my second encounter was with a queer doctor. This doctor is a man, wears mens clothes, but acted like a woman (or at least like lelaki lembut). He was not a doctor at the dept where I was posted, but I remember a day before that I followed my friend to that dept (as he was collecting signatures from doctors), that guy was really uptight, was sulking, angry in a girl kind a way. He was really.... (no adjective comes into my mind right now). Then the next day I went again to that dept (alone) as I was bored in my dept and was hoping to see some delivery. As I walked into the dept, he saw me and said "sini" (the scariest thing is that he suddenly became nice). I followed him into a delivery room. The he asked "have you done VE(vaginal exam) before?", I said no. "do you want to?", I nodded. But seeing as the patient look like a religious woman (pakai tudung labuh, menjerit pun malu2) and her face turned red when he sees me, I said "can you show me first, and I'll do the next patient?". He the showed me and brought me to the next room. If the first patient I was embarassed to do VE, I was scared of the 2nd patient. I would described that delivery room as a scene from The Exorcist. She was throwing her body around, shouting in pain. I wass afraid that she was going to kick me. I declined to do the VE and did it on the 3rd patient. Doing my first VE was unforgettable, but what was more unforgettable was that from the 2nd to 3rd patient, while I was following that doctor, a nurse passed by and whispered "hati-hati/be careful" and the glance at the doctor. In my mind I was like "s**t, is he going to take advantage of me?" (haha, I guess if I have been nicer to him, maybe I can do more difficult stuff like perineal repair or even do delivery myself). I watched 2 delivery that day, and when he had to go to OT, I ran from that place never to return again.

I don't know why, but I guess I have been giving out some signals to lempuans. In that week I guess I have seen 5-6 of them. (damn, what is this world turning into). The last encounter I would like to share was a short one. I was wandering in psych ward .I liked coming due to the fact that many training nurses are here- like 20 of them, and patients have a lot here, karaoke machine, badminton racquet (yes, we played in the ward), soccer etc. So, when I arrived at the female ward, I saw a lady sitting. 2 nurses was arguing about something. I asked her "are you visiting a relative?". "no". I immediately have chills, cold sweat running through my forehead. She/he had a mans voice. I was confused, she/he was beautiful (even better looking than most women), but she has a distinct male voice. I had to keep my cool. I chatted with him/her for a while.Maybe she has some throat problems. The answer that I can never forget is when I asked, what do he/she want to do if he/she is discharged?. "I want to become a good wife/saya nak jadi isteri mithali". then I was asked a nurse why the head nurses was arguing. Apparently, both of them refuses to admit that patient. He/she can't be in the male ward because of his/her look, and not in the female ward due to the fact that he has a piece of meat dangling between his feet. I didn't follow through with her/him. I dont know what happened to him/her.

A man who tried but failed to change his name is dead

His/her name is everywhere in the papers, in radio and in news. He was a man, who had undergone plastic surgery to change his sexuality. so now he has female external sexual organs (maybe he alteres his chest and face too because he/she looks like a natural born female). He tried to change his name from Mohd Ashraf Hafiz Abdul Aziz to Aleesya Farhana. So he is dead now but the media is still blowing up the story.
So in malaysia, a muslim is forbidden to look like a female let alone to change sex. I myself see them (transexual) as a psych patient. Maybe it was due to nature of their upbringing, some say it is hormone but all of these led them to believe that they are actually women trapped in a man's body. And they believe that the only way out is to do surgery and to cut off some "extra meat" dangling from their private area.
My experience is that these people have some mental problems. I for one have met quite a number of them (lelaki lembut, queen, pondan). And my conclusion base on my experience with some of them makes me believe that they are what they are - psychiatric patient.
Just imagine that these "guys", who call their gangs by "kak, mak, mek " and sort, wearing tudung (maybe not in public but they are comfortable enough to wear them in front of me) is basicly against God's will which forbids a man to be looking or acting like a woman. My concern is, that some of these guys are actually leaders of their groups (usrah) or some sort of religious group. This is all confusing me. I have hoped that they would change their lifestyle before it is too late (before snip snip). It usually started with some innocent act of trying to look different, they say that they are still men who just prefer to act like women but I am not sure where that road will lead them. I hope that I won't be reading a similar case involving my friends/

Buat duit dengan internet - earn money from the internet

Have you ever received emails or tagged in fb about making money through the internet? seeing friends with pictures of them with cash all over them? Don't get me wrong, I am not into that stuff and I am not suggesting that you get into that stuff. Maybe it is just me, but have you ever where that money is coming from? or is that thing even real? I just can't believe that by just signing into facebook you can earn sone RM. Money don't just grow on trees and I doubt that fb is giving all that money. Everything is shady, if there is such a thing, there is no complete guide or agreement. If you are interested, you need to pm some guy/gal and then he will contact you back.
Then he/she does not explain anything, they will just show you "proof"(which I still doubt) showing how much they make per annum/month. when a person is hooked, that person needs to ppay some sort of registration and then money will start flowing.
Okay, let me be honest, I was interested in such a thing but I never register. I was afraid that this is all is just s scam. Any of you guys out there tried these sort of stuff?

I am a late bloomer

Well I guess this is my first post. I had a blog or two once before but i never followed it through. So, I will try to maintain this blog... keep it nice, update it but no promises. I still have no idea about the path this blog will go or where it may lead but I'll try to make use of it. No idea what I will fill it with, but I'll type something cause I am planning to take my IELTS exam in the year or so and I need to brush up my english.
So, if there is any grammatical or factual mistakes please do tell, though I am not sure how many will actually read my blog. If you like my blog follow the blog, if you love it I guess you can transfer me some money...wink2. Thanks for reading.
